JW Moore Tuesday CME Conference – “Functional Anatomy Approach to Low Back Pain”

Cathy Kim, M.D., CMHS, Integrative Body Medicine, will present a lecture on “Functional Anatomy Approach to Low Back Pain”.  She will 1) Correlate the biomechanics of the low back and relationship to symptoms, 2) Discuss the role of fascia, 3) Apply a functional anatomy perspective to improve the dysfunctional mechanics, and 4) Describe the role of an anti-inflammatory diet.

The conference will take place on Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at noon, in Nichols Auditorium. CMH Wound Care & Ostomy Nurse

Isabel Jimenez Pantoja, RN, CMH interim wound care nurse, is covering for our lead wound care nurse Daphne until she returns from maternity leave.  Isabel has been receiving orders from physician’s to administer medications via the patient’s colostomies. Normally, this is not a problem because Daphne is an ostomy certified nurse and has the training to administer medications via an ostomy. Isabel is not ostomy certified and has no training to instill medications into patient’s colostomies. The physician, if they have the training, may personally administer the medication via the ostomy.

Update on how best to reach various radiology sites and personnel

The staff is all listed on mobile heartbeat under ocean tower radiology. This is the best way to reach a tech:

  • Radiology front desk – ext. 8160
  • CT – ext. 8175
  • Radiology nurse – ext. 8161
  • Rad reading rooms – ext. 5647 (rings in all reading rooms including Ojai)

A list of covering Radiologists is posted in the reading room area in the new department.
In addition, a Radiology on-call list is posted with cell phone numbers. This list is updated each day and sent to the house operator, emergency room, nurse supervisor and intensive care units.

We are working on getting the Rad photos posted on the reading room doors so one will know who is reading. Our reading rooms are located behind the waiting room and scheduling desk in the new imaging department of the ocean tower.
